Principal photography is set to begin on Abilene a narrative feature directed by Tyler David Sutton and produced by Tyler David Sutton, Richard Lee Jackson, and Jonathan Jackson in association with Hilasterion Cinema.
The film follows a touring musician as he returns home to Texas for Thanksgiving with his wife, where buried wounds and unspoken rivalries threaten to destroy his marriage, his future, and the fragile order of his family.
The production features a cast led by Emmy Award–winning actor Jonathan Jackson and Clare Bowen, appearing together onscreen for the first time since their work on the television series Nashville, with filming scheduled across a primary residential location and surrounding Texas exteriors.
Principal photography is scheduled to begin in March 2026.
Abilene marks Sutton’s feature directorial debut and continues Hilasterion Cinema’s focus on character-driven storytelling rooted in themes of reconciliation, memory, and spiritual longing.
The film is currently in production with release timing to be announced following completion of post-production.
