Bassist Daniel Sweatt Exits Enation
Friends, it’s with a heavy heart but also certainty that I send this message to you. After nearly 15 years playing music with Jonathan and Richard the time has come for me to start the next chapter in my life. This new chapter will allow me to remain in Portland and spend more quality time with my family.
I’ve been considering this decision for many months and it hasn’t come easy. It took me weeks to send an email I drafted to the guys giving them my resignation.
I have nothing but good feelings and great memories towards our time together in Enation. The guys have been nothing but understanding and compassionate about my choice and we continue to be the best of friends.
Thank you all for your support throughout the years, and keep giving it as the guys carry on without me.
Maybe I will see you in the crowd at one of their shows this summer.
Love you all.
Dano
Below is a statement from Jonathan and Richard about Daniel’s next chapter, apart from Enation:
It’s difficult if not impossible to put into words what Dano has meant to Enation and to Richard and me as friends. This transition has been difficult only because of the amount of love and respect that we all have for each other. We are extremely grateful that this transition is taking place without any negativity or relational conflicts.
Dano is one of our best friends and he will remain that even as the dynamic within the band changes. We completely respect his thought process and the reasons he articulated to us, as to why he has made this decision. We’ve grown up together, creating music and traveling the country together for the last decade. Incredible memories. Dano has encouraged us to keep going and not to stop making music as Enation. Richard and I are emboldened by his belief in the future of the band.
Dano has already tracked some new songs for a future album, so his touch and presence will be with us even as we move forward. We couldn’t be more proud of “Anthems For The Apocalypse” representing the journey the three of us have been on together.
Thank you for everything, Dano! We raise a glass to you, brother!
